Weight: 105g/㎡・laid pattern
Description: Paper designed for charcoal drawings. It is a laid paper and is also called Ingres paper because it was preferred by French painter Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. Its 75% rag composition makes the surface durable. The surface tooth is sharp and makes charcoal a leave thick coat so that charcoal spreads well and allows for beautiful gradation. The surface is gelatin-sized so that rubbing with a kneaded eraser does not scuff the surface. Together with charcoal, it creates a pleasurable sound while drawing. It is used often in Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In Japan, it is used in practical test at entrance exams for schools of art.
